Esther and ben’s Oxford wedding at st. Mary magdalen church.

Its been a while since I have posted any wedding highlights to my website. The main reason being I really struggle with the writing part. I can’t string a sentence together to save my life - its lucky people don’t hire me to ‘write’ about their wedding day. So when it comes to needing to add new content like this to my website I tend to put it off for as long as possible. But I couldn’t put it off for any longer so here we go!

Ive photographed many weddings in Oxford city centre (possibly hundreds, I havnt counted!). But Esther and Ben’s wedding at St. Mary Magdalen, Oxford was a grand one.

Esther is the assistant curate of the St. Mary Magdalen church and the vicar of the St. Mary Magdalen The Revd Canon Dr Peter Groves was ‘giving Esther away’, which meant an alternative official had to be brought in. So The Rt Revd Dr Steven Croft had the honour of conducting the Esther and Ben’s wedding ceremony.

The day started with Esther and bridesmaids and flower girls getting ready at The Randolph Hotel, where the usual hustle and bustle of people coming and going and getting ready took place.

With a grand exit from the hotel down the main staircase it was literally across the road to the St. Mary Magdalen church.

In the presence of many family and friends the Bishop of Oxford conducted Esther and Ben’s wedding ceremony accompanied by one of the most amazing choirs I have had the pleasure of hearing. After the ceremony there was a gathering for drinks and canapés and time to carry out a few formal family photographs before heading to Wolfson College for the rest of the evening for a bit of choreographed dancing, and more eating a drinking.

It was a memorable day with lots of personal touches from Esther and Ben and a pleasure to photograph.
