I have had the pleasure of photographing many weddings in and around Oxford city centre, and having the luxury of the Oxford colleges which never disappoint when it comes to photographing weddings. The beautiful architecture and immaculate gardens make for stunning backdrops and locations. But this was the first time where I had the pleasure to photograph a wedding reception in the Ashmoleum Museum!! What an absolute treat this was going to be!
Stephanie and Ludovic’s wedding used many locations close to the Oxford city centre. Beginning with the bridal preparations at Keble College. As with all preparations for any wedding day, it was a busy morning with plenty to keep me busy with mums, bridesmaids and friends and relatives in and out of the room making sure the bride did not want for anything.
After a couple of hours I made my way to the ceremony to meet with Ludovic at St Giles Church a short walk from Keble college. A beautiful church overlooking St Giles in the heart of Oxford, with a lovely walk for the bride along the path to the church door.
The next location after the ceremony was another short walk to Sommerville College to make use of the lovely gardens for the formal groups and a few candid shots of the guests and the traditional bouquet toss, won by one of Stephanie’s bridesmaids.
On to the last location where the remainder of the day was to take place. The amazing Ashmoleum Museum! Arriving after 5:00pm once it was closed to the public, Stephanie and Ludovic had a choice of galleries for the formal portraits, choosing the Mallett Gallery, the Cast room and the old marble staircase.
The rest of the day was full of energy and was completely amazing! Another wedding where I could have stayed until the early hours :)))))
It was difficult to choose a selection of favourite images as I could have easily posted all their images. But here are a few from their wedding day! Enjoy :o)
If you are planning a wedding at the Ashmoleum museum, Oxford. Or looking for a wedding photographer in Oxfordshire or the surrounding areas I would love you to get in touch to discuss the details of your wedding day with me. Thank you, Dale.
