The first reason is, I love photographing engagement shoots - they are great fun! It is also a good excuse to meet with you again before your wedding day and for the three of us to get to know each other a whole lot better :) The second reason (and more importantly) is that many couples who initially felt a little uncomfortable in front of the camera at the start of an engagement shoot (a perfectly normal reaction), always feel a whole lot better in front of the camera by the end. An engagement shoot will help immensely in assisting you to relax in front of the camera in preparation for your wedding day, leading to more beautiful and relaxed wedding photographs. It allows you the opportunity to see how I operate; for us to get to know each other better, and to also see how great you really look too :) All shoots are fully directed which takes the pressure of the two of you, all you need to do is turn up and look great!

Every couple who books their wedding photography with me, has the option to choose a location for their shoot. Maybe somewhere that is sentimental to the two of you - where the proposal took place; or a place you enjoy to visit. Or you can just leave it up to me and I will suggest various locations from which you can choose in and around Oxfordshire such as Christchurch Meadows, Oxford; Minster Lovell Hall, Witney or Blenheim Palace. Or if you prefer to travel slightly further afield locations such as Snowshill Lavender farm in the Cotswolds; Dyrham Park, Bath or even Bath city centre itself can provide stunning back drops.

Each shoot takes between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the location chosen. The photographs at the end of the engagement shoot (appx 30) will be available to download from your own private online gallery within 2 weeks.
