Jasmine & Johnny’s Oxford College Wedding.
One of the great joys of being a wedding photographer in Oxfordshire is the opportunity to capture celebrations in the incredible buildings of Oxford University. Jasmine and Johnny’s wedding was one of those special occasions, beginning with bridal preparations and the ceremony at the historic All Souls College.
All Souls College
Nestled in the heart of Oxford, at the corner of High Street and Catte Street, All Souls stands beside the University Church of St Mary the Virgin, once home to the University’s governing Congregation. Founded in 1438, the college still retains much of its original character. The striking four-storey gate tower and adjoining ranges date back to the 1440s, with later additions such as the battlements of the sixteenth century and Victorian windows giving it the grandeur we see today.
“Dear Dale,
We wanted to write to thank you for the utterly exceptional job you did photographing our wedding. I use "photographing" deliberately; not only are the pictures themselves really beautiful, your approach to the whole process was delightful and improved our day hugely. We have had countless compliments on the photos; I'm sure this is par for the course for you by now, but I just wanted to pass it on.
Thanks again, too, for your patience and generosity with your time. Staying for as long as you did - and with such good humour - was very much above and beyond, and we were (and are) very grateful.
In short - thanks for helping to make our wedding day such a special thing. We will be recommending you to anyone who asks, and plenty of those who don't!
All the very best,
Jas and Johnny”
Jasmine prepared for her big day in the Bursars’ Study, surrounded by her closest friends and family who ensured everything ran smoothly and on time. With the bridal suite and ceremony space so close together, I was also able to capture moments of Johnny welcoming guests and making sure every detail was just right before the ceremony. Once ready, Jasmine, her father, and the bridal party took a short walk to the All Souls Chapel. The breathtaking reredos provided a stunning backdrop as they exchanged their vows. Following the ceremony, guests gathered in the main quad to enjoy drinks, canapés, and a few formal group photographs.
