Bath Guildhall Wedding | Bex & Ayo
Bex and Ayo’s wedding day was captured on digital and also 35mm film - film photographs can be viewed here. The Bath Guildhall is a stunning venue for a wedding ceremony and situated in the heart of Bath it provides an backdrop for photography.
Wedding Photography in Bath City
A bit of vintage fashion and some Ghanaian culture was the theme for Bex and Ayo’s wedding in Bath. The day started with meeting Bex and Ayo at an Airbnb along Henrietta Street in Bath for preparation photos and a first look for Bex and Ayo. It was a nice chilled start to the day and gave the opportunity for the 3 of us to walk to the ceremony through Bath and take some photos along the way.
The wedding ceremony was held at the Guildhall in Bath with many of their friends and family there to witness the event. I photographed sections of the wedding using 35mm film alongside digital (view the 35mm film photos here) and due to the dark wood panelling of the ceremony room I pushed the Kodak Gold and the Kentmere 400 one ‘stop’ to help with the exposure.
After the ceremony we hung around the Bath Guildhall for a few bride and groom photos and some family group photos before heading down to the nearby park from a few more (semi)posed photos then headed off by boat to the Bathwick Boatman - a fabulous restaurant on the edge of the River Avon. Here we did a few more bride and groom photos - how could I not when they looked as good as they did!! And a couple of spontaneous groups of their closest friends.
The speeches were personal and extremely emotional especially when Ayo’s brother said his piece.
From the Bathwick Boatman we headed off to the Claverton Down Community Hall where more guests joined for the evening celebration of traditional Ghanaian money throwing amazing Ghanaian food and a massive party for all. It was an incredible day and a pleasure to have been able to capture it on 35mm film as well as digital.
KIND WORDS
Dale was fantastic! He captured our wedding day in an unobtrusive way and there are so many photos that we will treasure forever. There are moments that happened that I don’t remember, that we can now re live! The quality of the photos is absolutely stunning, from the candid ones to the posed ones. The 35mm film photos have a beautiful vintage feel to them and look timeless. Thank you so much Dale!
